Pasta Plain is a straightforward, unflavoured pasta with a firm bite once cooked. It has a smooth, pale colour and a neutral taste, making it a flexible base for a wide range of meals. This pasta works well in everyday dishes such as spaghetti bolognese, macaroni cheese or a simple pasta bake. It also suits cold pasta salads, tossed with vegetables and a dressing, or served hot with a tomato or cream-based sauce. Because it carries flavour rather than competing with it, it pairs easily with most sauces, meats and vegetables found in a typical kitchen. To cook, add the pasta to a large pan of boiling water and simmer until tender, then drain well. A splash of the cooking water can be stirred through the sauce to help it cling to the pasta. Once opened, keep any unused pasta in a sealed, airtight container to maintain its texture. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Cooked pasta that is not eaten straight away can be cooled and kept in the fridge for use within a day or two, reheated thoroughly before serving.
