Pasand Plum Tomato is a store-cupboard staple for a good bolognese. These tinned plum tomatoes form the base of countless pasta sauces, curries and casseroles. Each tin holds whole plum tomatoes, ready to be broken down and cooked into a sauce. The flesh is firm enough to hold its shape when needed, yet softens easily once heated, making it simple to crush by hand or with a spoon. Use them for a classic tomato pasta sauce, a base for chilli con carne, or as the foundation of a curry gravy. They also work well stirred into soups and stews, adding body and colour to the dish. Once opened, tip any unused tomatoes into a sealed container and store in the fridge. Use within a couple of days for the best result. Keep unopened tins in a cool, dry cupboard until needed.
