Del Monte Peach Slices are tinned peach halves cut into even slices, packed in syrup. The fruit is soft and smooth, with a sweet flavour that comes through in both hot and cold dishes. These slices work well spooned over ice cream or yoghurt for a quick pudding, or layered into a trifle alongside sponge and custard. They also suit a simple fruit salad, mixed with other tinned or fresh fruit. For a warm dessert, try them baked into a crumble or folded through a sponge pudding batter. Once opened, tip any unused slices and syrup into a separate container, cover and keep in the fridge, using within a couple of days. Draining the syrup first gives a firmer bite if you prefer the peaches on their own rather than in a sauce.
