E.E Crushed Chilli is a coarse blend of dried, crushed chilli flakes and seeds. The texture is rough rather than powdered, so it keeps its bite and colour once added to a dish. A deep red flake with visible seeds throughout, it is built to season rather than dissolve away. Use it to add heat to pizzas, tossing a pinch over the top before or after baking. Stir it through tomato-based pasta sauces, chilli con carne or bolognese for extra warmth. It works well scattered into marinades for meat or vegetables, or mixed into oils and dressings. A small spoonful can lift soups, stews and stir-fries when you want more depth without changing the overall flavour balance. Start with a small amount and add more to taste, as the flakes release heat gradually once cooked or left to sit. For fresher flavour, add it towards the end of cooking rather than at the very start.
