Sofra Dried Figs are whole dried figs with a soft, chewy texture and a naturally sweet flavour. Their skins are thin and slightly wrinkled, typical of fruit that has been dried rather than fresh, giving a dense, concentrated bite. These figs work well eaten simply on their own as a sweet snack, or chopped and added to porridge, muesli or granola for breakfast. They are a popular addition to cakes, breads and puddings, softening further when baked into batters or fruit loaves. Many cooks also stew them gently with a little water to make a compote, or simmer them into tagines and casseroles for a touch of natural sweetness alongside meat and spices.
