Frozen spinach leaf, ready to cook straight from the freezer. The leaves are kept whole, giving a tender bite once cooked and a fresh green colour that holds up well in the pan. Use it to build a quick saag aloo or spinach dal, stir it through a creamy pasta sauce, or wilt it down for a base under a poached egg. It also works well folded into a quiche filling or blended into a soup for extra body and colour. Cook from frozen by adding straight to a hot pan with a splash of water or oil, then stir until wilted through. Drain off any excess liquid before adding to sauces or fillings, as frozen spinach releases moisture as it cooks. Keep the bag sealed and stored in the freezer, only removing the amount needed. This helps keep the remaining leaves in good condition for next time you cook.
