Shan Achar Masala is a blended spice mix, sold as a dry powder in a 100g pack. It has a coarse, well-mixed texture typical of pickle spice blends, ready to use straight from the pack. This masala is designed for making pickles at home, such as mango achar, mixed vegetable pickle or lime pickle. Simply combine the spice mix with your chosen fruit or vegetables and oil, then leave to mature so the flavours develop fully. For best results, mix the masala thoroughly with the prepared fruit or vegetables before transferring to a clean, dry jar. Store the finished pickle in a cool, dry place and use a dry spoon each time to help it keep well. Keep the unused portion of the spice mix sealed in its original packaging to protect its flavour.
