Mumtaz Pure Desi Ghee is best known as the finishing touch for a tarka dal, stirred through at the end for extra richness. This is a pure desi ghee, sold in a 450g tub, made for everyday Indian and Pakistani cooking. It has a smooth, spoonable texture and a deep golden colour. Home cooks use it to fry parathas until they turn crisp and flaky, to cook rice for a fragrant pulao, and to enrich curries and karahi dishes with a rounded, buttery flavour. A spoonful stirred into hot dal or khichdi lifts the whole dish. Because it has a high smoke point, it suits both gentle simmering and hotter frying, making it a flexible fat for the stove. Use it in place of butter or oil in most South Asian recipes for a more traditional finish. Keep the tub tightly sealed after opening and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
